A work of art has a soul or an aura. From this principle, gauging the value of a work of art is, after all, relative and subjective. Several criteria can influence the setting of the price, but these are too subjective to play a decisive role: The working time, the cost of the material, the technique used, the market in which you operate, the visual quality, your career as artist, the quality of the technique, the complexity of the subject Here are some statistics which is not intended to influence you but to be simple indicators. Works sold regularly, we have a wide variety of pricing at the Pictorem gallery. This scale ranges from $20 per impression up to several thousand (price per area). Typically the majority of our artists use a price per dimension (between $2 and $5 per inch / or between $10 and $25 per square foot /) but lately the most common price setting remains a profit percentage on the cost of manufacturing (typically between 75% and 150% profit)
We do suggest using your best possible original size (without upscaling your image), in JPEG format at the highest quality settings. and please use sRGB as colorspace ( for the best color rending on your online gallery). If you see the loss in quality in the image preview on your online gallery, this is due to the web compression for faster browsing of your online gallery and we will print exactly the file you uploaded without this loss of quality.
No, we are using exactly the original file you upload on your account. We don't compress or alter them. We do generate smaller preview images for sale on the website for many reason, but mostly to protect use from copying high resolution image from the website and improve the download speed for an optimal browsing and shopping experience, but the print quality of your photos will not be affected.
To receive your commission, you can always request your payment by clicking on the ‘Ask for payment’ button on the Sales history section on your Account. However, the payments are issued only 30 days after the shipment of the artwork. Afterwards, the payment will be send directly to your PayPal Account.
The public price any visitor see on the website is the retail price, including printing cost and your commission. To get a good example of how much commission you make, you can simply go to your account, your online gallery administration, one each artwork, click on the EYE icon with a $. It will show you a special page display the full price and the commission on each size. Flat price & price per dimension is easy to calculate. The percentage of profit however needs some clarification: Consider the percentage of profit is based on the printing cost, not the retail price As an exemple if an artwork is sold at 300$ on the site and you have 50% profit. Your profit is 100$. Cost is 200$ + 50% margin so 100$ = 300$
It's possible the website didn't processs them as their file extension was not supported, please make sure to upload files with extension .jpg or .jpeg. Please also make sure your filename only contain alphanumeric caracters. Some special symbol (such as #!*& ) or international caracters ( chinese, arabic ... ) might cause issue during the upload.

We print at 8-bit. In fact, most fine art prints are printed from 8-bit files, even if the original image was originally 16-bit. Digital printers — even high-end models like Canon PRO series and Epson SureColor — cannot physically output 16-bit color per channel. Their output is limited to a smaller color space and dynamic range than what 16-bit files contain. Although editing and storing images in 16-bit is very useful for smoother gradients, less banding, and more flexibility in adjustments, printing at 8-bit perfectly matches the capabilities of professional printers and ensures the best results.
While we don’t offer a specific integration tool at this time, there are a few simple ways to connect your Pictorem gallery to your website. You can easily create a direct link or button that redirects your visitors to your Pictorem gallery. Additionally, you have the option to use your own domain or a subdomain and point it directly to your gallery for a more seamless experience. If you're using Shopify, we also offer a dedicated Shopify App that allows you to sync and publish your Pictorem gallery items as products directly on your Shopify store.
After uploading your image you will see an option to select the printing area of your image and you will see the option between Gallery wrap: we use your image and extend it to the sides. And Mirroring: we reflect the extremity of your image and reflect it on the side so you are not losing any area in front your canvas / or Solid color.
When you select our premium "wrap" style, 1.5 inch thick wood Frame for your canvas print, we will increase the size of your image by 1.5 inches all around. This way we can wrap the canvas around the frame with the edges of your image. We will however always check to make sure we are not removing a crucial element of your picture.
To know which varnish to choose, it is important to understand the differences between each:
The non-varnished canvas has a stronger texture of the cotton which works very well for paintings.
The matte varnish has a much sleeker finish with a stronger depth in colors, making it more suitable for realistic photographed images (family, landscape, etc.).
The glossy finish is best used for images that are semi-digital (edited images) or digital images, with the glaze of the finish creating a reflection that almost emulates the lighting of a screen.
The silver finish is very special in nature and hence often a hit-and-miss. However, from our experience printing it. We noticed that images that have very strong contrast with prominently darker colors (for example, a picture of space) work very well
Please note: standards vary from clients to clients, hence we cannot guarantee that our opinion will adhere to your liking.
We are using a 60 inch HP Pigment ink plotter, so for: Stretched Canvas print: Max size is 100 inches by 54 inches. Canvas print shipped in Roll: Max size is 150 inches by 58 inches. Please note that if you want want even bigger size, we can print your artwork in multiple panels.
We process all our images at 300 dpi (PPI) Don't enlarge your image, we will take care of it. We do suggest you send sRGB, the highest quality JPG format. More information is available in our Image preparation guidelines

Both Acrylic and HD Metal print will provide a very similar high reflection glass effect with vivid colors and come with the same exact mounting options. In some conditions it will be hard to differenciate them! The HD Metal Print will be able to render slightly richer black, brighter white and more saturated colors. This is an advantage if you want to generate a high impact colorful and contrasted result. Max size is 60x40 The Acrylic print will provide very precise and sharp details, and the thickness of the acrylic (1/8 or 3/16 inches) will provide a nice optical depth. And you can reach larger print size up to 96x60. If your image doesn't require to reach extreme color gamut and very high contrast, you will be very fine with acrylic print that still provide very vivid result with a smaller budget.
Yes, we do! We offer a non-glare acrylic print option specifically designed to minimize light reflection and surface glare. This option is ideal for environments with strong lighting, direct sunlight, or gallery spaces where glare can be distracting. Our non-glare acrylic has a subtle matte finish that preserves the vibrancy and sharpness of your image while reducing unwanted reflections. It maintains the modern, sleek look of traditional acrylic prints, but with enhanced viewing comfort from any angle. If you're looking for a refined presentation without the shine, our non-glare acrylic is a perfect choice.
Yes our Acrylic print is waterproof, we are using UV cured ink technology and this process is water resistant. The only thing you have to note is that the Back Frame mounting option is based on wood and is not guaranteed to last long on a humid environment, we would suggest to use metal pieces stand off as a mounting option or the acrylic sheet only.
Yes, if you are using a screw with a head or any wall hanging mounting, the back frame system will make your print perfectly parallel to the wall with no leaning. If you see a slight lean forward from the top on some of our example pictures, it's due to the special exhibition hanging system using wire from the top of the wall in our office
Yes, all of our mounted acrylic prints come ready to hang. Whether you select the Back Frame or Metal Standoff mounting option, your print will arrive with the necessary hardware for wall installation. The Back Frame mount can be installed using standard wall screws and will sit flush and parallel to the wall. Standoffs come with all required components, including screws and anchors. If you order the?acrylic sheet only, you will need to provide your own mounting or framing solution.
Cleaning your acrylic print is simple. Use a soft, lint-free microfiber cloth to gently wipe the surface. For smudges or fingerprints, lightly dampen the cloth with water or a mild, non-abrasive glass cleaner. Avoid using paper towels, harsh chemicals, or abrasive pads, as they can scratch or dull the surface. Regular light cleaning will keep your acrylic print looking vibrant and polished for years to come.
No, our acrylic prints are designed to be long-lasting and fade-resistant. We use UV-cured inks, which bond permanently to the acrylic surface and resist fading even under bright lighting or indirect sunlight. With proper care and installation in environments that avoid direct, prolonged UV exposure, your acrylic print will maintain its color brilliance and detail for many years.
We offer three primary mounting optionsfor acrylic prints: Back Frame (Floating Mount): A hidden frame mounted behind the acrylic, making the print appear to float off the wall. Lightweight and clean, this is ideal for a gallery-style display. Metal Standoffs: Decorative metal hardware that anchors the print to the wall through drilled holes, visible at the corners. Offers a modern, industrial look and secure installation. Acrylic Sheet Only (No Mount): A versatile option for those who want to frame or mount the print on their own. Each mounting option is professionally assembled and ready to hang, depending on your space and style.
To achieve the best results on large-format acrylic prints—especially sizes up to 96 x 60 inches—we recommend using high-resolution image files with a minimum of: 150–300 DPI (dots per inch) at the print size For optimal sharpness and detail, submit TIFF, PNG, or high-quality JPEG?files. If you're unsure, our system will flag any issues during upload and suggest recommended sizes for your image quality.
Acrylic prints are ideal for vivid, high-contrast images?that benefit from sharp details and bold colors. Some great choices include: Landscape photography with dramatic skies and natural textures Cityscapes and architectural shots with strong lines and contrast Macro photography and close-ups where detail is key Abstract art with bright, saturated hues Modern black-and-white photos, especially when printed on glossy acrylic for depth The glossy finish enhances color vibrancy, while the optional non-glare version softens reflections without dulling the image. Acrylic adds a sleek, professional feel to any image type.
We do not currently offer double-sided printing on acrylic. Our acrylic prints are designed with a single-sided, front-facing image, using UV-cured inks that are either printed directly on the back of the acrylic or layered with a protective black or white backing to preserve image vibrancy and durability. This single-sided approach ensures maximum clarity, depth, and color accuracy when viewed from the front.
Yes, we can print with transparency effects on acrylic, depending on your file and design requirements. By default, our printing process uses UV-cured inks on the back of the acrylic, which are opaque and designed for vibrant, full-color display. However, if you submit a file with transparent or semi-transparent elements (such as a PNG with alpha layers), we can preserve those areas during the printing process to create a see-through effect. This is ideal for creative applications like logos, signage, or layered visual art where light can pass through parts of the image. For projects that require partial transparency or no backing, please contact our team directly to confirm specifications and ensure your file is set up correctly for this unique effect.
We offer two finish options for acrylic prints: glossy and non-glare (matte). The glossy acrylic finish offers a high-gloss, reflective surface that enhances contrast, depth, and color vibrancy—ideal for bold photography or bright environments where shine is part of the visual appeal. The non-glare acrylic features a subtle matte finish designed to reduce reflections and light glare, making it perfect for brightly lit rooms, galleries, or spaces with direct sunlight. It softens the visual surface without sacrificing image clarity or color. Both finishes are printed using UV-cured inks for long-lasting, vivid results. The choice depends on your viewing environment and aesthetic preference.
The brushed and white metal are both printed on a brushed aluminum with the printing procedure being the only difference.
In fact, the brushed metal is printed directly on the aluminum with any pale colors showing the metallic texture.
The white metal images are printed with a white ink underneath, so as to not lose any pale colors, creating a matte texture with some slight natural graininess.
Yes our Brushed metal or White metal print is waterproof, we are using UV cured ink technology and this process is water resistant. The only thing you have to note is that the Back Frame mounting option is based on wood and is not guaranteed to last long on a humid environment, we would suggest to use metal pieces stand off as a mounting option or the metal sheet only.
The White Gloss Metal printing will render your image exactly as you see on your screen, with vibrant colors and bright white print with a Glossy look. The Silver Gloss metal will make the light area of your image silver, we will print on a silver metal sheet so the white portion of your image will shine with metallic and glossy effect, creating an artistic look.
Yes our HD metal print process is waterproof, we are using a chemical sublimation technology and this process is water resistant. The only thing you have to note is that the Back Frame mounting option is based on wood and is not guaranteed to last long on a humid environment, we would suggest to use metal pieces stand off as a mounting option or the metal sheet only.
